Sartobind® Q absorbent membranes exhibit a macro-porous structure with a pore size> 3 μm. Quaternary ammonium ligands covalently bind to the complete inner surface of the membrane, resulting in the separation of high binding capacity media in combination with extremely high flows.
As the size exclusion effects are negligible, they are suitable for virus purification and show a higher binding ability compared to the resin. Viruses such as adeno or lentiviruses are retained at high flow. This material allows up to > 100 reuse cycles without losing binding capacity.
Sartobind Q is the perfect tool for polishing valuable proteins such as monoclonal antibodies. The amounts of the layer can be kept small enough during the removal of virus, DNA, host cell protein, protein A and endotoxin from such pharmaceutical proteins.
